SUNDAY
SCHOOL
From a humble beginning over 200 years ago, Sunday school
has grown to become
one of the major sources of Christian Education
today. The Sunday school movement traces
its beginning back to
Gloucester, England. There, in 1780, a young printer named Robert
Raikes,
became concerned for the boys of his neighborhood and their lack
of education.
Because Sunday was the only day when the boys were
not working in the local
factories, Raikes gathered them on that day to
teach them "the three-R's" and the Bible.
The idea of
Sunday school quickly caught on and grew rapidly in America.
In 1788 John Wesley wrote to a friend, "I verily think these Sunday
Schools are one of the noblest
specimens of charity which have been set
on foot in England since William the Conqueror."
At Bible Baptist Church our Sunday School is based on God’s
book, the King James Bible.
The
classes start in the book of Genesis, and nearly four years later end in
the book of Revelation.
Every
class, from 3-4 year olds to the adult class, has the same Bible portion
as the lesson text on any Sunday.
This
makes for all of the family having common themes to discuss, even though
they may have been
in different classes.
Classes
for every grade level with competent teachers who not only know the Word
of God,
but the God of the Word as well.
We would be pleased for you to make Bible Baptist Sunday School
part of your family’s Sunday. Join us beginning at 10 A.M. every Sunday, and find out for
yourself.
“Study
to shew thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing
the word of truth.”
II
Timothy 2:15

BUS MINISTRY
Since the beginning, in the early
seventies, Bible Baptist Church has had a bus ministry. The
purpose is,
and has always been, to reach out into the surrounding
community and bring children (and adults) in
to hear the good news
message that Jesus died on an old rugged cross, was buried in a borrowed
tomb,
and rose victorious over death the third day to purchase our
redemption and secure us
a home with Him in glory.
We are currently running three bus routes in Linda,
Marysville, and Olivehurst. Lord willing, in the near future,
we will have bus transportation to and from Beale AFB and Yuba City.
If you have children or are in need
of transportation yourself, and would like a ride to and from church,
please do not hesitate to call us at 742-2495 and leave a message.
We will have someone
contact you and make arrangements to pick you up.
It is our desire to serve you as we
serve Christ!
"...Go out into the highways and hedges,
and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

CARE HOME MINISTRY
It is our desire that every outreach of
Bible Baptist Church be a blessing and a Godly testimony
for all those to whom we minister. It is also a tremendous
opportunity for those
whom God has called to get "into the ministry" and
"exercise the gifts" with which
God has blessed them, and be a blessing to others.
We presently minister in seven facilities in the Marysville / Yuba City
area on a monthly basis.
· First Sunday at 2 p.m. ~ Prestige in Msvl./Sunrise Gardens in Msvl.
· Second Sunday at 2 p.m. ~ Prestige in Msvl./Sunbridge in Msvl./Courtyard
in Y. C.
Second Monday at 7 p.m. ~ Fountains in Y. C.
· Third Sunday at 2 p.m. ~ Prestige in Msvl./Emmanuel in Y. C.
· Fourth Sunday at 2 p.m. ~ Prestige in Msvl./Sunbridge in Y.
C./Courtyard in Y. C.
· Fifth Sunday at 2 p.m. ~ Fountains in Y. C.
We sing hymns, preach and give an
invitation at each service. While the preaching service
is going on, other workers visit from room to room, passing out tracts
and witnessing to those
in sick beds who need to know that God still loves them. It is
imperative that these dear folks
are reached with the Gospel. Just sharing the Gospel in a simple,
straight forward,
unadulterated manner from the Word of God, is the only way many of these
will ever
receive true comfort in the trials that they now face.
Please come and join us in making a
difference in someone's life for the Lord!

MUSIC MINISTRY
As with every ministry at BBC, we want our music to bring Glory and
Honour to our Lord. We
believe
that the priority of any New Testament church must be the
PREACHING / TEACHING ministry.
However,
the music should compliment the preaching ministry, and prepare the
heart of the hearer
to receive the Word more readily.
The music at BBC is conservative, with a gospel impression.
Our “Voices of Worship & Praise”
(adult choir) sings each
Sunday morning, as well as presenting a cantata at Christmas &
Easter.
We have a men’s quartet
along w/
various
ladies groups, and a wide variety of others.
There is really something for
just about everyone’s musical
taste.
We encourage
young people to play
and sing for church, as they are able.
Our
congregational singing centers around the
beloved and faithful hymns!
We love them! Occasionally,
contemporary choruses are sung as well.
"O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us
make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful
noise unto him with psalms."
Psalm 95:1-2

BIBLE BAPTIST
YOUTH GROUP
The
teen years can be confusing, difficult, and challenging!
Through Sunday morning and
Thursday night classes, weekly
outreach, monthly activities, annual trips, retreats, and programs,
the
teens at Bible Baptist Church are challenged and equipped to live and
grow for Christ while
they are still in their youth.
Of course, the only way that we can do this is by taking heed to
the word of God as it says in Psalms 119:9-11:
"Wherewithal
shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to
thy word.
With my whole
heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against
thee.”
...and
in I Timothy 4:12:
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the
believers, in word, in conversation,
in charity, in spirit, in faith, in
purity.”
It is through God’s power, His word, and much prayer that we provide
the Bible based wisdom
that teens need, combined with the fun, friendly
atmosphere that teens enjoy!
Each
year, the teens can look forward to camps, trips, community outreach,
fun activities,
and many other opportunities to exercise and live out
their faith. Although these
years are some
of the most difficult and challenging, teens can have the
victory through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A life lived for God can be fun and exciting!

SENIOR
SAINTS
Bible Baptist Church
has always been a church that is about the whole community.
In addition
to ministering to children and young adults, we also have a very active senior
citizens group that
meets regularly for meals, fellowship, activities and challenging bible
studies. As busy as we all can
become, we never want to lose sight of those who have blazed the trails,
set the standards, shined
the light and held the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ high for all
to see. Our goal is to never
lose the desire to know Him better... to motivate and encourage one
another to
strive to become all that God has designed us to be, no matter what our
age.
Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not;
until I have shewed thy strength
unto this
generation, and
thy power to every one that
is to come.
Psalm 71:18

MEDIA MINISTRY
The Media Ministry of
Bible Baptist Church is designed to compliment the overall
outreach of our church in every area. We currently record all of
our services on video and audiotape
as well as provide remote feeds to two on-site viewing rooms, one for
nursing mothers and another
for developmentally disabled. In addition, we provide visual
support for the main auditorium
in the way of powerpoint slides for singing, scripture readings and
coming events.
"The Lord gave
the word: great was the company of those that published it."
Psalm 68:11
In this digital age, publishing is much more than just what we used to
see on the printed page.
We are endevouring to make the preaching and teaching of the Word of God
available
in as many forms as is currently possible and we could use your help.
If you
have a natural interest in the technical side of things and a love for
the Lord and are willing to die to self, let us know.

RESCUE MISSION
MINISTRY
The Lord has blessed our church with 2
opportunities of preach at the local rescue mission in Marysville.
We previously have had only one night each month to preach. This
is the present schedule:
· Second Saturday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
· Fourth Sunday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
If you would be at all interested in
coming and serving in this area of ministry with us,
please contact Brother Rick Verga. It is our hope that God
would be able to use you in this ministry.
There is a definite need for good Gospel preaching in this area.
The perfect, preserved truth from the
Word of God, preached without apology and in love, can certainly meet
the needs in any life.
For those who have reached a place in their lives where the only move
left to make is up,
we want to be there for them to point the way. No one in this
world is of such little
value that they can just be thrown away. After all, the Apostle
Paul wrote in I Timothy 1:15...
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus
came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."
This is a great chance to help those
who, in most cases, need it most. Will you let God use you in this
area?

MISSIONS
PROGRAM
"Therefore said he
unto them, The harvest truly is great, but
the labourers are few:
pray
ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers
into his harvest."
Luke
10:2
One's view of missions is often shaped by descriptive words such as
"far-away places,"
"foreign," or
"sacrifice." The key word usually associated with
missions is "go." Jesus declared
to His disciples in
Matthew 28:19, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations..."
At Bible Baptist Church, the focus is summed up in the word
"send." Paul
reminded believers
in the Epistle to the Romans, chapter 10, verse 15,
"And how shall they preach,
except they be sent?"
Of course, Jesus is right when He commands us to "go,"
but the
task is most fully seen in the group-centered word, "send."
Missions is not an individual endeavor but a team effort - the response
of the church to His heart for the world.
Our privilege of sending missionaries demands fervent prayer, personal
contact,
and financial support. Our vision is that we are part of
missions whether we "send" or "go."
God has
called many of our missionaries to distant lands, while our Lord has
called
each born-again child of God to minister in the place where he
is. What a privilege it is
to be partners with 40 ministries on 6
continents.
"Pray
ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers
into his harvest."
"Some
go,… some stay and give and pray that
others may go…"
